Professional and Personal:
Margo Golden was born outside of Chicago. She recently relocated from Suwanee Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Margo and her two sons are settling into Carmel and enjoying the many activities that the area offers.
While attending Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, she was active in the Southeastern Raptor Rehabilitation Center and rose to Student Medical Director. Additionally, she served as a Student Emergency Resident in the Small Animal Clinic. During her senior year, she followed her interest in Exotic Animal Medicine to the University of Tennessee to participate in an Externship.
Dr. Golden has worked in private practice for over 20 years and has served as Medical Director for two animal hospitals. She realizes the importance of the human animal bond in not only our pets' health, but the wellbeing of their owners and how we can all mutually benefit. This vision correlates with the One Health Initiative, which recognizes human health, animal health and ecosystem health are all inseparably linked.
When not in the office, Margo is quite busy with her two boys, two cats and a dog. Her sons are in 9th and 5th grades. Both are active in soccer. She and her high school age son have become immersed in the Carmel High School Marching Band. Go Greyhounds! Like his mother, the 5th grader thrives in running and has participated in Pups Running. Margo has made the commitment to run in the Indy 500 Mini Marathon in the Spring. Emmy Lou, her wire haired pointing griffon is her running partner and her newly adopted German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, Luhtzie, has joined the team. Other than training on the Monon and soccer, her family takes pleasure in hiking and camping.
